Hod's Message

The Department of Humanities and Science is one of basic departments of engineering and technology. It is working with the objective of laying a strong foundation at the first year stage so that engineering streams becomes easily accessible and comprehensible for students.

The Department of Humanities and Science teaches and promotes practical aspects of Applied Sciences and Humanities to build a solid foundation as part of the Engineering Education. We prepare students for core engineering branches by educating them in physics, communication skills and mathematics in the first year. The faculties are excelled in academics and they use different methods of teaching, learning and training. The department believes in combined efforts of the faculties working with the team spirit to face the upcoming challenges in teaching and technology fields and to solve student’s query.

Physics laboratory

The purpose of the Physics Laboratory is to develop scientific temper, analytical capability among the engineering students and to understand the general scientific concepts required for technology and apply the concepts in solving engineering problems. This laboratory also explains the new developments in engineering and technology scientifically and to familiarize with the concepts, theories and models behind many technological applications.

The physics laboratory is  used to practice the scientific experiments - asking questions, performing procedures, collecting data, analysing data, answering questions, and thinking of new questions to explore the knowledge in physics.

The measurements play a vital role in performing experiments and determination of accuracy of the results obtained. This all depends upon the use of measuring instruments. The students are motivated for demonstration of how to make use of these measuring devices.

By working in this lab, students

  • Demonstrate the fundamental principles of Physics;
  • Develop and improve their experimental techniques and data analysis;
  • Gain and enhance student understanding of basic Physics concepts through direct observation of empirical evidence and hands-on learning.;
  • Understand the role of direct observation in Physics and distinguish between inferences based on theory and the outcomes of experiments.
  • We have specious laboratory with 30 students’ capacity which is useful in subject like Engineering Physics.

    Major Equipments

  • Newtons Ring appratus
  • Ultrasonic Interferometre
  • Four Probe Method
  • LASER Characteristics
  • Fabry Perot Etalon

Communication Skills laboratory

The English Language is a window to the world. The significant role of its spoken, written usage at formal and instructional level in any academic and professional front is acknowledged across the world. A comprehensive knowledge of the language has become an object of importance in today's professional scenario and career oriented way of education.
It enables the students to expedite the process of improving learning skill with more emphasis on LSRW (Learning, Speaking, Reading, and Writing) leading to desirable employability.

The Language lab is equipped with 20 computers each having software related to development of communication skills & vocational skills.

The language lab intends to develop the confidence level of students and it would motivate them to use their language skills outside the classroom as well.

Highlights of the Communication Skills Lab:

The students are given training in the areas of

  • Conversational English
  • Language skills
  • Soft skills
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Decision making skills
  • Business communication
  • Group discussion
  • Corporate readiness
  • Resume preparation
